Jane Eyre and A Thousand Splendid suns are very similar in many ways than one. One way that they are similar in that they are both a biography in sorts. Jane Eyre is very parallel with Charlotte Bronte's life. Both of them struggle in their childhood as they are both mistreated. Miriam is mistreated by her Nana, who tells her she doesn't deserve anything and that a man finger will always point to a woman. Jane on the other hand was mistreated by her Aunt and her relatives who locked her up and bullied her because she was of a lower social class than them. They are also similar in that they carry similar themes in that good things happen eventually. They both contain the motif of perseverance and feminism. They are different in that Jane's story is not true also it is very similiar to Bronte's life while Miriam's story is based upon the lives of women in Afghanistan. They are also different in terms of setting in that Bronte's story takes place in England while A Thousand Splendid Suns takes place in Afghanistan. A Thousand Splendid Suns is also very modern and very recent while Jane Eyre is much older literature.
